As a proactive measure and to increase patient safety, we will offering virtual visits to all established and new patients in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Please read all of the information on this page prior to your visit. If you have questions, would like to reschedule an existing appointment or schedule a virtual visit, please call our office at (434) 984-2400.

WHAT IS TELEDERMATOLOGY?

A teledermatology visit is a real-time visit with your healthcare provider that is done over a video call. You can share pictures of rashes and skin lesions and talk to your provider about skin conditions. If you need a prescription, we will electronically send it to your pharmacy.

If the provider feels that you need to come into the clinic for further evaluation and treatment such as a biopsy, we will schedule you to come in.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY VISIT?

One Day Prior to Your Telehealth Visit

It is helpful for you to set up an account on my patient visit. An informative email will be sent to you covering account set up at the time you make your appointment. If you are unable to access the portal or have any issues, please give us a call at the office.

Please send any photos of areas that you would like to discuss during your Telehealth visit to telemed@cvillederm.com. You can also upload important documents such as insurance cards and photo identification, through the portal that go directly into your chart. Please do this the day prior to your appointment day.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN IT IS APPOINTMENT TIME?

You will receive an email or text with a link that will take your to your appointment. You will need to do this at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. Make sure you enable the microphone and camera on your device and adjust your volume. Your provider and medical assistant will be with you shortly.

WHAT IS THE COST OF TELEDERMATOLOGY?                                       

A telemedicine visit is billed using the same fee schedule as in-office visits. The following carriers will process telemedicine claims at this time:

  • Aetna/Aetna Medicare Advantage
  • Anthem/MCR Anthem Advantage
  • Humana/MCR Humana Advantage
  • Medicare
  • Optima
  • Tricare East
  • United Healthcare/MCR UHC Advantage

Coverage depends on the benefits of your plan. We will collect co-pays and deductible due by credit card at the time of your visit.
